Zoom with a wheel mouse and the mouse stops. The latest Autocad software doesn't have this issue. However older versions or alternative CAD software may have.
Try this. With some objects on screen roll your mouse wheel back towards you. Eventually it stops. Try to pan from this point by pushing the mouse wheel down. Pan is very restricted in it's movement.
The solution is to type RE and enter. This is the short cut key for the regen comm and which has the effect of refreshing a "display list" within your CAD software. Your mouse movement is now free of restriction. Though it can stop again when the current display list is depleted.
The CAD software zoom command (Z) has no restrictions.
Zoom (Z) then E for extents option results in a small drawing .
This is because there is a stray object somewhere. So Zoom extents is working to display all of the objects.
Just edit & copy with base point 0,0. (Best practice to use 0,0 base point but edit & copy will do). Select all of the "good data" and push enter key. So this good data is transferred to the clipboard.
Then type E for erase command, at select object prompt type all. Then push enter or right mouse to finish select objects and erase all the data (In Model space only).
