Troubleshooting the Move command The Move(M) command is very similar to copy. Don't forget to push enter or right mouse to finish select objects.
You then have to specify a base point. It's good practice to pick an osnap point on the object to be moved so that when you will be used to creating an accurate move when that's required.
Many are confused by the movement of the object as the cursor is moved. Typically objects are moved parallel to the current x and y axes if Ortho mode is on. So it can be helpful to turn Ortho mode (F8) off to see the object follow your cursor, using your chosen base point.
