Trouble shooting Erase (E) and Finish Select Objects Objects are accidentally deleted.
This is a classic symptom of using grips for erase. Click an object without first going into a command and you will to see blue grips,. Then push the E for erase key or delete button. This is bad CAD drawing practice.
When you have an object that is gripped on screen try pushing the mouse wheel for pan. (You should be using an optical wheel mouse or alternative). Note that grips don't go when you pan with the mouse wheel pushed down.
So any object that's left gripped will be erased, even if it's not in view.
If you use grips you must push escape key immediately after you have finished using them. (Right mouse and properties for example).
It's bad practice to use grips for erase as they can be the cause of accidental deletions.
Good practice is where you use the erase command (E) then select the objects, then push enter to finish object selection.
